Home Is Where the Farmhouse Sink Is...

I am, and always have been, in great pursuit of making my space the perfect amount of cozy and functional...and somehow always manage to have too much of one and not enough of the other! What matters is that I try, right??
Anyhow, lately the home making bug has been taking over and I have never wanted to own a home more! I can't wait to have my own house with beautiful, big windows and a porch with a swing! With this home owning desire I have been thinking a lot about what I want in my very own home and thought I would put a list up here of what I've come up with so far! Let's go!
1. A big, beautiful farmhouse sink...duh haha

I've had many experiences with different kinds of sinks and many different dish doing habits. Growing up we had fairly normal sized sinks with large faucets and a spray hose. My family would wait until the sink was full of dishes before filling the dishwasher and hand washing the big dishes. When I moved out on my own I had a tiny, double sink with a dishwasher. This worked well enough. Then I moved to my current apartment where I have a super small double sink with a tiny faucet, no garbage disposal and no dishwasher and I HATE IT! Now while it has encouraged me to change my ways and do dishes as they are dirtied it seems as though the sink always has dishes in it (I use one half of the sink to dry dishes so the counter isn't always taken up!) As I've grumbled and groaned over the struggles of my sink history I decided most certainly on which kind of sink I want in my future home and that is a big, white, farmhouse sink with a spray handle, a garbage disposal, and a pretty faucet.
2. A Claw Foot Tub

This has been on my "In my wildest dreams" list foreeevvvveerrrrr. I am a total bath person. I love soaking in a tub with a lovely bath bomb, candles lit, and pretty music playing. Nothing has become so glaringly necessary in the past few months to me than this claw foot tub. In my current apartment I have to share a bathroom that only has a shower and it could make me cry. So, I absolutely need a giant, luxurious, claw foot tub in my life to make up for this current time where baths are non existent.
3. All the Pictures

I think that the biggest factor in making a home look like a home is the use of wall space. I need pictures up everywhere. I always have more pictures than I have wall space so hopefully in my own house I will have plenty of wall space and copious amounts of art to hang on it!
4. So. Much. Storage.

I have a lot of stuff. I'm trying very hard to be someone who has less stuff, but I think that I will always be someone who collects and as long as I get use out of those collections it's okay. I will always have too many mugs so I want plenty of shelving and maybe a wall hanging storage system for my favorites. I will always have a lot of books, but I'll talk about that next! I will always have a record collection so I want a shelving unit that will store my records, but also allow me to easily go through them. I will always have a lot of piano books so I'll need proper storage near my piano. I love to create so I'll need a well organised room for my crafting supplies. So much storage is needed!
5. A Library...or at least a bookshelf wall haha

I love books. I love reading them. I love owning them. I've always wanted a library in my house with a window seat and twinkle lights, but I also know that might not be the most practical so I would settle for a wall of bookshelves and a cozy chair!
These are just a few things that have stood out to me in the past few weeks, but I'm sure this list will grow and as it does I'll try to make another one of these inspiration lists! What do you guys want in your dream home?
Happy Friday guys!
